11 Years of Marriage

Over the weekend, December 13th, Tim and I celebrated our 11th Wedding Anniversary. Wow, the time has flown! I am more in love with this man then the day I married him. We have been through both high times and low times, but the one constant is the Lord Jesus. He is truly faithful!

We were also able to celebrate Tim's parents' 40th Wedding Anniversary with a party on the very same day - 12/13/14! Their actual anniversary is December 21st. What a fun celebration and testimony of God's faithfulness and rock in their marriage. I feel so blessed to be part of this family!

Tim and I were able to go out to eat the evening of our anniversary at Red Lobster. Yum! My parents (who have been married now for 43 years) took our four kids so that Tim and I could have a date night all to ourselves. We then concluded our weekend with lunch at my sister's house. Fun family time! What a rich weekend of celebration!

The new hair do...

Once upon a time, just a few days ago, a little girl allowed her two older brothers to cut her hair. She had golden locks of curl that went past her shoulders. She decided one day that she did not want to have "purties" (a.k.a barrettes, hair elastics) in her hair anymore. Mom would daily brush her hair, if not twice a day, and with the tangles and hair accessories it was getting to be too much for this four year old. So, the five year had scissors from his kindergarten craft assignment and he suggested to the little sister that he should give her a hair cut. She kindly agreed. He nicely trimmed up the back side making it into a "bob" of some sort. Then the scissors went to the seven year old brother, who did not want to miss out on this extraordinary opportunity to get in on the hair fun. He decided that "bangs" were in order. Bangs much like his! At the completion of this hair appointment, which was given in the bathroom, they decided that mom should be surprised with this joyous event. Needless to say, the four year girl stood back apart from the brothers as they announced there was a surprise. The girl stated, "I don't think mom will like it."  Mom saw. Gasps inspired. Consequences given, apologies made, and forgiveness extended. It will grow, right?

4 Years old!

My sweet Hannah is 4 years old now. It happened on September 20th, but I realized that I hadn't put anything up on the blog.

This girl is a true delight! A few ways to describe our Hannah are friendly, caring, playful, nurturing, devoted, kind, outgoing, smart (she's reading 3 letter words now!), and joyful

Refreshing...

That word, "refreshing," is how I would describe the changes that have happened the last few days. I'm not sure how many of you follow this blog, but it is my desire to update on family life, kids pictures and the "happening" that are going on around here more frequently through this blog.

I have deleted my Facebook account this week! I was tired how much of a time sucker it was and something needed to go. So, I decided FB was the thing. For the most part, I don't miss it! I'll miss the updated pictures and pregnancy announcements or news that people have sold their house. But, I'm hoping that I can connect with people face-to-face MORE or even over the phone.

God's Faithfulness

Reflecting on this passage this past week:

Lamentations 3:21-27   (NKJV)

21 This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.

24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!”
25 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.

Sledding Party and Caleb's Birthday

On Friday, January 24th we celebrated Caleb's 5th birthday! What a joy and delight it is to have Caleb. He is silly, quiet and noisy at times. He is thoughtful and observant of ALL that goes on in our family!

We had our Joy Homeschool Group over for a day of sledding and birthday cake. What a blast! There were 5 of us moms with 16 kids amongst all of us! Here are a few of the pictures from our day of enjoying this winter weather.
